Augusta National Women’s Amateur: Day One of History
Augusta National is home to so much tradition in the world of golf and the ladies are now taking part! Day one is over and let’s see how we stood up!
It’s finally the time where women get their chance to test their skills on the legendary Augusta National tracks. The inaugural ANWA Championship field is loaded with NCAA standouts and the highest ranked amateurs from all over the world!
I’ve watched some of these NCAA superstars play to win during the spring season as a team. Now they’re competing against each other!
Who will claim the first ever Augusta National Women’s Amateur title?
Tied for 1st
Jennifer Kupcho is no stranger here at ForeGals as she leads Wake Forest in many NCAA tournaments. The standout carded a 4-under par score after going bogey free with four birdies! After Wake Forest, Kupcho has already earned her full LPGA Tour status so she won’t be going far from her current fans!

Zoe Campos is only sixteen and she came to show any NCAA competitor that she can do it better! Currently ranked No. 103 in the WAGR she won the Alison Lee’s AJGA Championship just this last year!
Not only that, Campos is T-1st after going 4-under in her first round at the Augusta National Champions Retreat! The teen phenom went 2-under on her first nine and 2-under on her back nine while only carding two bogeys!
